Road Upgrades Continue in Kalaeloa Town

Hunt Companies Hawai‘i remains focused on completion of the first upgrade of Kalaeloa Town’s roadways — an investment of some $40 million.

The last major milestone is set for completion later this summer with the reopening of Copahee Avenue. Currently closed to the public, Copahee Avenue is undergoing significant improvements, including roadway upgrades, sidewalks and street lighting. Once finished, the avenue, owned by the City and County of Honolulu, will meet current city standards.

Students and families of Barbers Point Elementary School will particularly benefit from the completion of Copahee Avenue, as construction has temporarily altered travel patterns. Currently, the school can only be accessed via Tulagi Avenue.

Once Copahee Avenue reopens, school buses will return to their original route, and all other vehicle traffic will be directed to exit onto Copahee.

The opening of the southern portion of Kamokila Boulevard and Boxer Road is also tied to the completion of Copahee Avenue.
